Abstract

 

This thesis of “The Buddhadhamma and Buddhist Community Along with  Border of Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province” has three objectives a) to study about conditional Buddhist community and of Chiang Saen district, Chiang Rai province, b) to study the way of Buddhadhamma and Buddhist community of Chiang Saen district, Chiang Rai province, and c) to study the ways and applying the Bddhadhamma to Buddhists community of Chiang Saen district, Chiang Rai province.

             The methodology of thesis is a qualitative research and interview structure, in-deep interview from individuals who give a data with dialogue and specific groups in order to get data to analyze the main subject, presentation structure analytical description and separate case issues.

             The representative providers for this thesis are the providers’ data in-deep and divide into three groups of villages 1) from Bansopruak (Moo.1) ten representatives 2) from Banwanglao (Moo. 4), ten representatives, and 3) from Banhuaykeing (Moo. 8), ten representatives. Each groups divide into three sub-groups with different occupations and positions such as two persons from government officers, one abbot, one village leader and six people from Dhamma-practitioners and people who come to the temple with merit making thirty people in total. The data   providers with group dialogue by focus on ten people in-deep data supporter in easily.

             The condition of customary Buddhist community in Chiang Saen district, Chiang Rai province can be found the conditional Buddhist community in three villages they are conventional Buddhist traditions, cultures and history; especially traditions and cultures at the frontier in their daily lives are unique to each community the religion beliefs system from their ancestors have been effective to their cultures and lives neighboring similarly the religion maybe concerned with harmonious cultures, traditions without conflict, feud this reason make their community and minds are  harmony for three villages, they almost are all believe in Buddhism, they are come to the temple practice offering Dana listen to the Dhamma talk in Buddhist occasion days. They supported their sons and daughters come to be a monk, novice and nun for studying Buddha’s teachings encourage and protect Buddhism. They chant before go to sleep, observe five precepts without bad actions encroach even though body and verbal. In addition to that, the temple is a center appointment of villagers and mind refuge can find the condition location Buddhist conventional community have been living with happiness harmony peace unity loving-kindness, compassion, and live normally.

             The way of applying Buddhadhamma with Buddhist community network in frontier, Chiang Saen district, Chiang Rai province. We found that in three villages they observe (Puññakiriya-vatthu) the three items of meritorious action the way of merit making; (Danamaya) meaning offering; (Sılamaya) observe precepts, (Bhavana-maya) the gained through or meditation, apply the (Sanghaha-vatthu) four in daily life for getting happiness in their families and friends know the giving (Dana), speech softly (Piyavaca), doing good benefit for self and other (Atthacariya), impartiality sociability (Samanattata) all of these make the Buddhist village community network peacefully.
