An Analytical Study of the Propagation of Buddhism of the Buddhist Monks and the Volunteer Dhammadūta Monks in Five Southern Border Provinces (Comparative Religion)

Abstract

This research is of three objectives, 1) to study of the propagation of Buddhism of the Thai Buddhist monks, 2) to study of the propagation of Buddhism of the volunteer Dhammadūta monks in the five southern border provinces, and 3) to analyze the propagation of Buddhism of the Thai Buddhist monks and the volunteer Dhammadūta monks in the five southern border provinces. The sources of this study have been collected from documents and also from In-depth Interview.

The results of the study were as follows:

The result of study found that the propagation of Buddhism of Thai Buddhist monks had hold the Discipline in Buddhism by following the Buddha’s conducts as the model of propagation, and using the Ovādapātimokkha as the heart of propagation, they are the 3 principles, the 4 ideologies, and the 6 methods. It also had specified to choose the 8 special characteristics of Dhammadūta monks as appearing in the texts. Later, it has specified the policy of the project on the network for Dhammadūta in both the home and abroad, the Dhammadūta through establishing the volunteer Dhammadūta monks to motivate for working on the propagation in the five southern border provinces by holding the mentioned above strictly. It also created the local network for training and instructing morality clearly. There are three special projects; the network of volunteer Dhammadūta Monks in the Five Southern Border Provinces, the creation of encouragement to Buddhists who are stalked by insurgency in the Five Southern Border Provinces, and the visiting monks and Laities according to the project on promotion of the stability of Buddhism Institute in the Southern Provinces. It is to make the continuing and effecting for propagation of Buddhism from the past to present, and it has built better tendency peacefulness respectively.
