Abstract

    This thesis on A Study of Guidelines for Conservation of Community-based Forests According to the Buddha-dhamma in Napho Sub-district, Napho District, Buriram Province”  have three objectives : 1) to study of conservation of community-based forest of Napho sub-district, Napho district, Buriram province, 2) to study of Buddhist principles which is the promotion in conservation of community-based forest, 3) to study of guidelines for conservation of community-based forests according to the Buddhist principles in Napho sub-district, Napho district, Buriram province.   This research is a qualitative research and interviewing the sample population in Na Pho Sub-district, Na Pho District, Buriram Province, amount 30 persons

               The result of research found that  :

               The results of research on a study of guidelines for conservation of community-based forests according to the Buddhist principles in Napho sub-district, Napho district, Buriram province can conclude into three subjects namely ;  1) the Three Characteristics of Existence is that all conditions are constantly occurring, the community-based forest is like that the condition in the past, the forest area is abundant, 2) there is the growth of society, the community is expanding, and receive culture and communication causing the area to change, the main factor is the economy, living in the community itself for survival, villagers have expanded their territory, 3) the monks are aware of the situation. That is to understand the changing conditions and managed to end the problem and pointing out that humans and living things are interconnected, cannot be lacking any system.

               The Dharma principle which community can apply to solve the problem is Five Niyamas (Five Aspects of Natural Law), there are as follows: 1. Utu-niyamas : Natural law relating to material phenomena. 2. Bija-niyamas ; natural law related to reproduction, also known as genetic 3. Citta-niyamas ; natural law is related to working of the mind. 4. Kamma-niyamas ; natural law related to act and result. 5. Dhamma-niyamas ; natural law related to causality and conditionality as Ti-Lakkhana and Paticcasamupada.

               The guidelines for using Buddhist principles in the use of forests in communities in Na Pho Sub-district, Na Pho District, Buriram Province is to know that there are problems in the destruction of forests Khao Sala, forest preservation. There are 5 aspects of guideline : 1) monks should study the discipline and should understand Buddha’s wishes really, 2) monks should make plans for natural resource conservation, 3) monks should arrange Seminar on forest conservation, 4) monks should apply the principles of discipline for conservation, 5) The government should take care and facilitate the conservation of natural resources.
