                                              Abstract                                        

The objective of this thesis is to study the factors affecting Buddhist Precepts-taking of lay followers at Wat Phosri, Pakplee district in Nakornnayok province. The sampling group consists of 90 persons. Statistical used to conduct the research were analyses of basis data, i.e. percentage, average of and Standard Deviation. The T-dependent and statistical analysis of covariance (Analysis of Covariance : ANOVA) are used as analytical tools for the research objective. The research found that:

            The different genders, age and average monthly income have not affected the participants’ faith in observing the Five Precepts at the significant percentage of 0.05. But for the groups with different education backgrounds, the research found that this group has more faith in taking the First Precept (abstain from killing) than other groups, at the significant percentage of 0.05. Whilst their faith in taking other precepts have not been different.
