Abstract

 

               The objectives of this research were (1) to study the aspects of the administration of human resources development undertaken by Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, (2) to study general condition of the human resources development therein, and (3) to offer guidelines for human resources development thereof.  The population under this study consisted of 263 persons working in the main campus and provincial campuses, sleeted by a systematic technique and 19 high and middle-levelled executives purposely selected for interview.  A mixed method between quantitative technique and qualitative technique was employed in this study by paying wore emphasis on the qualitative technique.

               The findings of the study were as follows:

               (1) General aspects of the administration of human resources development as undertaken by the University were clearly stated according to the 5-year plan of the University.  The administration of the University human resources appeared in a formal management in terms of rules and regulations already laid down and in an informal management in terms of personal contact.  The executives had played important roles in personal management.  The aim of the University human resources management was to increase effectiveness of personnel’s work performance.  The personnel must be trained to increase knowledge, competence and skills and to obtain a higher level of education.  The University had formulated a systematic clear plan and strategy for human resources development.

               (2) General Conditions of the University human resources development were found in the forms of the formulated strategies and measurement for promoting an advancement of work career, boosting up morale in working, provision of welfare, encouraging creative activities for cultivation of mutual fraternity and unity and giving guidelines for resolution of the difficulties in work performance.

               (3) The recommendations for the University human resources development consisted of seeking for guidelines or measure to suitably satisfy the personnel and University with the following needs: promotion of higher education, looking after welfare and wellbeing, creating the leadership potentiality, build up of the opportunity for advancement in work career and cultivation of royalty and commitment to the University.
